Dental Implants

We are committed to the highest possible quality for the most perfect results. Together with our dental implants, our training and experience give us this quality guarantee. We follow the scientific protocols that have been developed and studied the most since the inception of modern implantology over 40 years ago. We have been performing dental implants in Porto since 2001.
Excellence and Quality FOR ALL.

Reconstruction with dental implants can be performed on anyone, even without bone mass, using either dental implants or guided bone regeneration techniques using Piezo Surgery and PRGF Plasma technology.

Nobel Guide

Nobel Guide is a modern concept applied to implantology. It consists of very precise computerised diagnosis and the creation of surgical guides, which allow us to place each tooth implant with a precision of 0.18 mm, in the ideal place and with no margin for error.

Using the Nobel Guide concept, dental implants are fitted without cutting the gum, almost without bleeding and without the use of stitches.

Surgery and trauma times are much shorter, allowing us to fit the dental implants and fix the teeth in one hour, during a single consultation.

Zirconia Crowns

Ceramic teeth or crowns that we fit over the implants contain no metal; they are 100% ceramic from inside out.

Zirconia makes crowns stronger than metal. In terms of aesthetics, the result in more perfect and more natural teeth.

Ceramic teeth are bolted to dental implants with 100% gold bolts.

Although they are invisible, these bolts are subjected to great forces and are made from gold.

PRGF Plasma

Taken from the patient’s own blood, Plasma Rich in Growth Factors, or PRGF, is a futuristic technology that allows faster healing.

It increases the success of dental implants and allows bone mass to be increased for the installation of dental implants where it wouldn’t otherwise be possible due to lack of bone.

It has many other applications, as well as the advantage of being fully bio-compatible, as it is removed from each patient’s blood and used as soon as it has been extracted.

1st Consultation
The diagnosis and treatment plan consultation includes a detailed analysis of your teeth, mouth, face and smile. All necessary X-rays that are essential for correct diagnosis and planning are taken. This is the first step towards building your perfect smile: the planning of dental implants to obtain the most perfect result possible.

Dental Implant

Put simply, this is the replacement of lost teeth with a new tooth, by fitting an artificial root or dental implant. It is a simple process, carried out by a team of dentists with specialist training. The choice of materials is of particular importance, and our team works with the best dental implants.

The treatment can involve one or two phases: 1st, the fitting of the implant and 2nd, the fitting of the tooth. For most treatments, these two phases can be carried out at the same time. In these cases, the teeth are fitted at the same time as the dental implants.

Types of implant work

Replacement of 1 tooth
If only 1 tooth is missing, it is only necessary to fit 1 dental implant.
Implanted teeth
Replacement of several teeth
The first step of this type of denture treatment involves the fitting of dental implants.

Replacement of several teeth

If more than 1 tooth is missing, fewer implants may be necessary than the number of teeth to be replaced. For example, if 3 adjacent teeth need to be replaced, 2 implants can be made, one at each end, and 3 ceramic teeth joined together as a bridge can be fitted.

a good diagnosis and planning process is always necessary so that the necessary number and type of dental implants can be selected to correctly replace the missing teeth.

Bio-mechanical aspects are very important to aesthetics, functionality, comfort and durability of the implant treatment.

Replacement of all teeth
There are several solutions in this field of dental implants, that can be split up into 2 groups:
as Removable Dentures and Fixed Dentures.

Removable dentures on dental implants, or semi-fixed teeth

Removable teeth are known as overdentures and, 2 to 4 dental implants are used.
We use a ball-based fixation system in the lower jaw, that fits into the dental implants.
For the upper jaw, we use a ball-based fixation system on a bar that joins the 4 dental implants.

Dentures on implants

Dentures secured by balls   Dentures secured by a bar   Dentures secured by balls and a bar

This type of denture must be removed at least once every 12 hours for cleaning and to allow the structure inside the mouth to be sanitised.

Fixed dentures on implants

Fixed dentures on dental implants are those that cannot be removed, even by the implantologist using specialist devices.

Between 4 and 8 implants are normally used for this type of denture, depending on anatomy, age and functions in each case.

The aesthetics, function and durability of these types of fixed structures depend on the number and type of dental implants that are used. Between 4 and 6 implants are sufficient in most cases. Protocols requiring fewer implants can be used if there are anatomical limitations (lack of bone structure). In these case, the All-in-4 protocol can be used, with just 4 dental implants, or the Branemark Protocol, with just 5 dental implants.

Fixed denture types can vary and can take the form of:
Hybrid Dentures or Emerging Dentures.
- Hybrid dentures are structures containing artificial teeth and gums, allowing a natural smile to be simulated; these are only used when there has been major bone loss.
- Emerging dentures are structures that contain only the teeth adapted to the implants and gum. They are used when there is a good amount of bone available and they generally require a higher number of dental implants.

Fixed implanted teeth

The following materials can be used to construct dentures over implants:
Metal-Acrylic, Metal-Ceramic and 100% Ceramic.
- The internal structure of metal-acrylic dentures is made from metal, either as a chrome-cobalt alloy, titanium, or precious or semi-precious gold; the teeth and artificial gum are made from acrylic. These are the most cost effective and easiest to repair in the event of a breakage.
- The internal structure of metal-ceramic dentures is made from metal, either as a chrome-cobalt alloy, titanium, or precious or semi-precious gold; the teeth are ceramic-coated and the artificial gum (if necessary) can either be made from ceramic or acrylic (composite). This is the strongest arrangement.
- The internal structure of 100% ceramic dentures is made from Zirconia ceramic (Zirconia oxide); the teeth are ceramic and the artificial gum can either be made from ceramic or acrylic (composite). This is the most expensive and best looking option, giving a natural and younger appearance.
Zirconia implants

Fitting of 100% Zirconia dental implants in Porto. The new age of aesthetic dental implants is metal free, with surprising results. The phasing out of titanium dental implants in favour of these new 100% Zirconia implants allows both the tooth and its root to be white and aesthetically pleasing. This system means that there is no possibility of scar lines appearing on the gum.

Prelada Concept - Innovation Quality

Fixed teeth can generally be installed immediately after the fitting of implants. This procedure is common in many different clinics; it uses a fully acrylic denture that is subject to breakages, changes in colour and bad odours, even over a short period of time.
What makes us unique is the step forward that we have taken in modern implantology. We have replaced the initial temporary denture and we fit very aesthetically pleasing an natural permanent teeth within 24 to 36 hours after surgery. This procedure, which we have been practicing since 2003, is also known as immediate loading, the protocol for which is being developed by our medical and laboratory team.
These teeth may be considered as permanent and they are of the highest quality currently available in the field of implantology.
